My stay at the Grand Victorian Inn was a mix of charm and discomfort. The decorations and historical memorabilia created a lovely atmosphere, but the musty odor and uncomfortable furnishings really put a damper on the experience. Breakfast was a highlight, but the overall value felt lacking considering the issues faced during our stay.

Rooms
5.0
The room was well-decorated but unfortunately too stuffy and musty for comfort. The antique furniture, while beautiful, was quite uncomfortable, and there was no place to store luggage or personal items.
Service
6.0
The owners were friendly, but there were moments where the service felt a bit indifferent, especially regarding the room conditions. It was a bit puzzling to have to find our keys outside.
Location
7.0
The location was quiet with a nice historical vibe, but the occasional train noise disrupted the peace. It's conveniently close to Mammoth Cave, which is a plus.
Dining
9.0
Breakfast was truly enjoyable, with delicious pancakes and homemade blueberry jam. It was one of the highlights of my stay.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities definitely need some updates. The lack of air conditioning control and small TV made it hard to relax in the room.

I had an enjoyable stay at the Grand Victorian Inn, which has a charming ambiance and is run by the welcoming owners, Gary and Karin. The rooms are cozy and full of historical character, and the breakfast was delightful. However, the proximity to the train tracks made for a noisy night's sleep at times, which might not be ideal for light sleepers. Still, the overall experience was lovely and I would absolutely return.

Rooms

The rooms were cozy, comfortable, and kept clean, making me feel right at home. They had a nostalgic Victorian charm that I adored.
Service
10.0
The service was extremely friendly and inviting, with Gary and Karin going out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. They even provided a toothbrush when I forgot mine.
Location
7.0
The location is fantastic for exploring Mammoth Cave, just about 10 minutes away. While it's quiet and peaceful, the active train tracks nearby do bring some noise, especially late at night.
Dining

The breakfast was fabulous and offered a great start to the day, while dinner at the Mammoth Railroad Cafe was a wonderful experience as well.
Facilities
8.0
The facilities were charming, featuring vintage decor throughout, which added to the overall experience of staying in a historic inn.

5.4/10

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The massive, comfortable beds were definitely a plus, but the outdated decor and excessive noise from the nearby train tracks made it hard to fully enjoy the experience. The front desk staff lacked warmth, which left a less-than-ideal impression. All in all, it’s a decent place to crash, but don’t expect much in the way of modern amenities or a peaceful night's sleep.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were quite spacious and had big, comfortable beds, which made for a cozy night despite the surroundings. However, the temperature control was frustrating since the A/C was central and unadjustable.
Service
5.0
Service was not the highlight of my stay; the front desk staff was unfriendly and didn't provide much of an introduction when I arrived. It could really use some improvement in guest engagement.
Location
5.0
The hotel is located very close to an active train line, which was quite loud throughout the night. However, if you can overlook that, you’re just a short drive from local attractions.
Dining
6.0
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to enjoy the dining options to their fullest, as I was less impressed by my overall experience at the hotel. Breakfast could be more varied to enhance the stay.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were a bit lacking in modernity. The advertised TV was a small monitor that didn't quite live up to expectations, and the overall vibe felt crowded with outdated decor.

I had a lovely time at the Grand Victorian Inn during our family reunion. The rooms were charming and authentic, though the train noise could be bothersome for light sleepers. The innkeepers were wonderful, sharing fascinating stories about the property, and we enjoyed our meals together. The location is convenient for visiting Mammoth Cave but might not be ideal for those seeking nightlife.

The Grand Victorian Inn is a charming and cozy place with a unique history that offers a delightful stay near Mammoth Cave. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with beautifully decorated rooms filled with antiques. However, my experience with the service was disappointing, as I faced issues with check-in. Overall, it’s a great spot for relaxation, but communication could be improved.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms felt authentic to the Victorian period and were filled with knick-knacks and memorabilia, providing a charming atmosphere. They are comfortable, much like our own Victorian home, but could use a little more maintenance.
Service
5.0
While the owners put a lot of thought into the inn, my experience with service was unsatisfactory as I encountered issues during check-in. The response I received about breakfast timing was not as welcoming as I hoped.
Location

The inn is very close to Mammoth Cave National Park and situated on Old Dixie Highway. It's in a quiet area, making it perfect for relaxation, but expect occasional train noises.
